Introduction
Background
I wrote this article in August 2005 when the OpenDocument Format had just been accepted as a standard by the OASIS committee. It compares the advantages and disadvantages of the format with other industry standard formats and explains why the advantages do matter.
It's written in Dutch, but I'd be happy to translate this if there is demand for it.
